Somehow unexpected

I got an 86 on the anatomy test! How great is that? I know it doesn't seem that great, but believe me, it is. Most of my classmates didn't even get to 70, and the only grade better than mine was one 88 and it doesn't even count, but that's a different story.

The reaction of my classmates was somehow unexpected. Not that I care, but I guess it was impossible for them to believe that I deserved that grade. They didn't say much but I noticed they have assumed it had been luck or a mistake. I really don't care. They better get used to it, because now that I know that I can do it, I will. I don't blame them though, I've never been that good, or good at all, but they'll see.

I'm much more determined this time. Cellular biology keeps being a problem though.

P.S. Today I tasted unexplained jealously and sadness for one second, and just remembering the image brings back to me that "thing" to my stomach. I'll tell you later, I don't want to ruin my happy post.

Creating big drama

I did something really really bitchy, and I truly regret it. It's not THAT bitchy, but it IS bitchy to me, because I'm not a bitch on a daily basis. Okay. Stop with the bitchin'.

So, there's this guy I hate, despise, and can't stand. He's so conceited, he thinks he's the best, and he's so mean. He has laughed at me several times, and that's the reason why I don't speak to him at all, well...sometimes I'm mean too. But what am I supposed to do? Be good to him? Hell no!

Okay, now...Remember McDreamy (a really cute guy)?

This guy I hate (let's call him Crooked Teeth) totally hates him, and I've concluded that the reason why he hates him is that McDreamy is hot, smart, cool, nice, cute and.... wait, what was I talking about? Oh yeah, and Crooked Teeth is nothing compared to him. Most of the guys envy McDreamy, but not to the point of hating him, so Crooked Teeth is quite pathetic.

Anyway, last Friday he was talking trash about adorable McDreamy, saying that we were all (all of his students) sick of him. Hello! That's only him! So, later that day... I was leaving school and saw McDreamy, and he said hi...Oh my God...so nice, right? Oh, yeah. But that's not it.

After that, I sort of started telling him about this Crooked Teeth guy, and what he was saying about him, and how he hated him. I can't believe I did it, that's so unlike me. And what worries me is the fact that it could turn into a big problem, because McDreamy has some power over us (not because he's hot, but because he's kind of our teacher), and he could focus all of his anger on Crooked Teeth. That would be great, and I would really enjoy it if it wasn't my fault, but basically it was entirely my fault. I never do stuff like this (creating big drama), I tend to let someone else do the dirty job, and I always thought that sooner or later everyone would realize what an idiot Crooked Teeth is.

So...I'm a little worried about tomorrow. What I really hope is that no one finds out that it was me, or that it happened.

Lessons learned:
  • Not to make Danny's ideas mine, yeah, it was her idea on the first place. It just made sense at the moment, and I had the opportunity and did it. Dammit!
  • Let someone else do that bitchy things that I obviously can't do without turning everything into guilt.
  • Not let my hatred for Crooked Teeth and my love for McDreamy change my behavior.
  • If I ever do something bitchy again, and I think I will, do not feel this guilty about it.

1 a.m.

Yesterday I stayed up until 1 a.m. studying for my embryology test, by that time I was sick and tired of studying, so I went to sleep. I wasn't even sleepy, but I was really tired and a little frustrated, I had lost my optimism and couldn't learn anything more.

Today I took the test, two tests actually (one's a lab). I thought I had done terribly on the first one, and was afraid I could fail. What frustrated me the most was the fact that embriology is supposed to be the easiest subject. So several thoughts crossed my mind: "I should have stayed until 3 a.m.", "If I fail this one, what can I expect from the others...", "I hope I can get a 60", and of course..."I want a tequila shot!".

But I think staying until 1 a.m. was okay, I got an 80 on the first test, and a 96 on the second. Pretty cool, huh? Good luck? Maybe!

Many of my classmates weren't happy with their grades, they thought there had been a mistake, because the "brightest ones" got 70's and the "dumbest ones" got 80's. I don't know if they were implying I was part of the "dumbest ones" (I hope not), but who cares?! I'll show them. I'm very motivated at this point.

So wish me luck!

Next week I'll take tests for the other subjects.

P.S. I still want my tequila shot!

My own McDreamy
posted by Gabriela on Monday, September 17, 2007| 3 Comments

Okay, technically he's not mine. But let's just leave it at that, it's ours (all of my girl classmates). We all have a crush on him. Some of us are sweet about it, some are not that sweet, more like dirty about it. But we all agree. He's SO cute or SO hot. Probably both. Awww.... and he's smart and kind. These two last qualities being my favorite ones, but you know, you can't overlook the fact that he's cute/hot.

Everytime we have class with him and he speaks, it's like an angel talking to us. That's me describing it, the other girls would describe it in other way, which I'd rather not mention. The thing is he's quite a motivation to all of us, at least to me, it's the only class I'm excellent at, and I look forward to. Hmmm. Maybe I should imagine that he's in every class. LOL.

So, what else can I tell you about him? Did I say he's perfect? Well, you'll probably hear me saying it quite a lot. He's about 22 years old, fourth year student, and he's...aaaw. Perfect?

But he's quite impossible. He has a girlfriend, and he's the kind of guy that cares about his girlfriend. One more quality! Well, kind of... you know what I mean.

I don't think anything relevant regarding this new found McDreamy will happen, but if something does, I'll let you know. It will probably be about me doing something foolish or whatever.

Hmm...I'm beginning to think that I like him more than the other girls do. But it's such a foolish crush that I'd rather not say.

Classmates-friends
posted by Gabriela on Sunday, August 19, 2007| 3 Comments

I think it's time for me to describe some of the social changes I've experienced in my new school. See, my new classmates-friends, are so different from what I'm used to. It's nice and frustrating.

* Apparently the normal state of being is "not single". It's so weird, in a group 0f 45 people just about 5 are single, and I'm one of them naturally. This is not how it used to be for me. I was never a minority when being single. But now, everytime I say I'm single they make me feel like it's a disease and I'm about to die. It's so frustrating. So, I need someone NOW, I don't care who it is. Oh, wait, I do. I'm too picky. But it's too "uncomfortable" being single. What should I do? What do you think? And don't tell me to ignore it and forget about it. I need practical advice, not "being patient" crap. Okay. That was quite desperate. I'm just kidding, say anything, as long as it's advice.

* Everyone talks shit about everyone, but apparently everyone "likes" everyone. The other day I said I didn't like someone, and I thought my comment would be welcomed. My bad. Apparently, even though they talk shit of that person, they like her. It's so frustrating. I don't know how it works! Usually, if I don't like something about someone, I don't like that someone. And just so you get a clear idea of why I don't like this particular person... she said I was ugly! In a polite passive agressive way, but still, how dare she? Even if I was the ugliest person in the world and she was the prettiest, she has no right. That bitch!

* They laugh at my jokes. Sometimes I'm not even trying to be funny and they laugh. The other day I said the word "hygienic" and they found it so cute. That's right, they find me cute. And they find me pretty. And all THAT is new. Did I say they laugh at my jokes? It's so weird how, even if I don't really fit in YET, I feel accepted among them. Suddenly I'm not that forgetable.

I'm making an effort to adjust to all these changes. Meanwhile I have one new girlfriend. I don't know why she likes me. But thank God. I don't know what I'd do without her. A girl always needs at least one girlfriend. Don't you think?

P.S. I forgot to mention how yesterday went, let's just say it was fun and harmless. I'm glad I didn't miss it. And I was 99% sober.

Well spent day
posted by Gabriela on Sunday, August 05, 2007| 5 Comments

Yesterday was the funniest day ever. Ok, I'm exaggerating as usual. But it was a fun learning experience, and that is completely true.

I knew it was going to be an interesting day, but I thought it would probably be one of those tough days for me. But it wasn't. I was quite happy about my job throughout the morning after all.

We (most of the students) measured blood pressure for about three hours or more. Our ears were hurting at the end because of the stethoscope, and of course, I was the first one to complain. I hate complaining but believe me, it did hurt. Fortunately, the fifth year students were kind and let me take a break. I had already learned everything there was to learn about measuring blood pressure, so I think it was a well deserved break.

Overall it was a well spent day, except for the hurting ears. But I got to see my classmates, I learned thoroughly about measuring blood pressure, and after eighteen years of thinking my blood type was A positive they told me it was O positive. Oh, and something worth mentioning... the second year students treat us like trash. I guess they're really happy because they aren't "the first year students" anymore. I didn't expect anything different though.
